Joe’s Transmission enters third season as title sponsor of TNT Hot Rod Super Series!

'Local' sponsor for 'local' series adds contingency payouts to 2009 program!

NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO (January 12, 2009)  The TNT Super Series is very excited to announce that Joe’s Transmission Service has signed on to support the series for a third straight year.  “It's huge for the series to have a title sponsor like Joe Boniferro and his team.  They bring elements to the series that few could match,” said Ted Barnes, TNT Series Director.  This year, Joe's Transmission is also posting contingency at each event - $50 to the winner and $25 to the runner-up.  "That's potentially an extra $900 in the purse this year!"

“We’re extremely pleased to be involved with the series again this year,” said Joe Boniferro, owner of Joe’s Transmission Service.  "Everyone involved with this deal does a great job - from the promotion of the series through regular press releases & event newsletters to a highly efficient execution on raceday."

Joe Boniferro & Ted Barnes

The TNT Super Series is focused locally in southern Ontario & western New York.  It's based on NHRA’s Super Street & IHRA’s Hot Rod classes and runs on a 10.90 index in the 1/4 mile (7.00 in the 1/8 mile).  They use a .500 pro tree and ladder the field starting in first round.  Over the past two and a half years, it has proven to attract the “best of the best” in sportsman racers with a level of competition that is second to none.  “I’ve said it before - I’ll put any past World Champion up against these TNT racers any day of the week,” added Joe.

For 2009, the TNT championship points structure will not change.  “We had a lot of positive feedback about the points system last year including the popular qualifying points,” said Ted.  And the yearend cash payouts will be as follows:

1st - $1000

2nd - $500

3rd - $300

4th - $200

5th - $100

According to Ted, there will likely be TWELVE points events in 2009 including three or four double race weekends.  “Dates are just about finalized and should be announced next week," he added.  "We're focusing on multiple race events in order to reduce travel costs for the racers."

The TNT Series boasts some other attractive features like paying round money for EVERY round win, paying back MORE than 100% of the entry fee and paying a MINIMUM of $500 to the winner at EVERY event...GUARANTEED!

Joe’s Transmission has been the title sponsor since the inception of the series.  “I want to thank Joe for being with us from the start.  He took a chance with us and it’s made a huge difference in the quality of sportsman drag racing in the southern Ontario / western New York area,” added Ted.  “With a lot of people concerned about tough economic times ahead, it’s nice to know you can see a very competitive sportsman show for a reasonable price and it's close to home.”

Look for 2009 dates at both Dunn Tire Raceway Park and Toronto Motorsports Park for both 1/8-mile and 1/4-mile heads-up action.  Monitor www.tntsuperseries.com at least once a week for updates.
