TNT 10.90 Double-Header weekend – Date changed AGAIN

Someone could go home with more than $1500!

CAYUGA, ONTARIO (September 19, 2008)  The 2008 racing season in southern Ontario and western New York has been more than a little damp.  Actually, it’s been a lot damp.  We’ve had rain every weekend but one.  Last weekend at Toronto Motorsports Park (TMP) was no different.  The Sep 13-14 running of the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series Double-Header 10.90/8.90 weekend got washed out by Mother Nature and has been postponed.

Originally rescheduled for Sept 27th, the event would have been in direct conflict with IHRA’s division one Bracket Finals.  The only other viable option was to go head to head with the IHRA Pro Am at Skyview Drags the weekend of Oct 4-5.  However IHRA’s recent move to change the date for Skyview’s Pro Am has opened up Saturday Oct 4th as an attractive alternative – and it’s one that TNT competitors are going to take full advantage of.  “Moving race dates is not something we do lightly,” said TNT Series Director Ted Barnes.  “In fact, it’s the last thing we want to do.  The 27th was the lesser of the two evils but now with the event set for Oct 4th, we’ll have more cars and more fans in attendance - so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity.  And now racers can attend the Pro Am, the Bracket Finals AND the TNT event!”

The original weekend was supposed to have with THREE 10.90 races and at least ONE Scott Jahren Paint TNT 8.90 event.  Two of the original 10.90 races will be contested on Saturday Oct 4th at TMP and are being presented by Bieda’s Powersports.  Race #1 will pay $500/win (minimum) and Race #2 will pay $1000/win – both guaranteed!  “Car counts are expected to be strong given the ‘double-header’ structure of this event – potentially pushing the $500/win payout for Race #1 even higher,” added Ted.  Qualifying begins at 11am sharp so get there early.  Visit www.torontomotorsportspark.com for more info.

The 3rd and final 10.90 race for the 2008 season will likely be run on a separate date later in October – Keep an eye on www.tntsuperseries.com for that announcement – So don’t put your stuff away just yet!

The Scott Jahren Paint TNT 8.90 event has been postponed to early in the 2009 season.

The next event on the 2008 Joe’s Transmission TNT 10.90 Super Series schedule is Friday October 3rd at Dunn Tire Raceway Park in Lancaster, New York.  Visit www.dunntireracewaypark.com for details.
