Watch the $5000/Win TNT Super Series Race Live on MMTV Friday at Empire's IHRA SSNC Weekend
The country's most competitive sportsman series gets live streamed this weekend!
NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO (August 14, 2017) The Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series is hosting its second annual $5000 to win event on Friday, August 18th as part of Empire Dragway's IHRA Summit Sportsman National Championship weekend, and it will once again be live streamed on Motor Mania TV - Coverage begins at 4:00pm.
Presented by Roy and Tara Lister, this high dollar race is extremely popular in the sportsman ranks. Just like every TNTSS event, the entire payout - including the $5000 winner’s purse - is GUARANTEED with NO MINIMUM CAR COUNT required. All for only $150 entry or racers can win their way in through one of the raffles. Raffle tickets are only $10 with at least four free entries being drawn.
"Last year's event had over 70 cars in first round," said Ted Barnes TNTSS Race Director. "Our race is open to essentially all competitors – except dragsters – as the TNTSS has no weight minimum and left-hand steer open-bodied cars are welcome. That means Hot Rod, Super Rod and even Super Stock cars can compete!" It also means that those racers potentially have FOUR shots at the winner’s circle this weekend when you include the bonus bracket race on Saturday night – also paying $5000 to win.
In addition to the regular TNTSS specialty awards, such as the Hoosier Tire Canada #1 Qualifier $100 certificate, the loser from each of the first three rounds that is closest to the index will win a prize from J&S Collision ($50 cash) or VP Race Fuels ($50 cert). As with last year’s race, Boniferro Speed & Custom will award $200 cash to any driver that records a perfect run, and there are prizes in every round for the best reaction time thanks to DRE Engine Diapers, Altronics, Banner Engineering and Dynabrade. Plus, there is a Permatex bounty on current points leader Tom Coonly, along with contingency awards from Hoosier Tire, Autometer and Altronics for the event finalists.
This is a points race for the 2017 TNTSS championship and like the SSNC, it will be contested on an 1/8 mile with a 7.00 heads up index. Currently Tom Coonly from Blasdell, NY is leading the TNTSS championship points chase with 463 points. The team of Pete Maduri Jr & Pat Boniferro are in second, Ted Barnes & Jeff Sobczynski hold third, with Steve McCarrick and JJ Jablonski rounding out the top five. Only 65 points separate fifth from first.
Support to make the TNTSS $5K race possible comes from Roy & Tara Lister, Joe's Transmission, Ian Hill Racing/ATI, Scott Jahren Paint, The Balancing Act, Boniferro Speed & Custom, and Empire Dragway.
The first of two qualifying sessions gets underway at 4:30pm on Friday, August 18th, with eliminations to follow. For the finer details on the TNTSS $5K, visit http://www.tntsuperseries.com/images/5k-2017_fullpage.png .

About the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series (TNTSS):
Since it began in 2006, the TNT Super Series has grown into one of the strongest, most competitive sportsman drag racing series in North America and has catapulted many competitors to success on the national stage.

The yearend points fund provides $15,000 cash & prizes to the top finishers.
The TNTSS is committed to providing the highest level of competition backed by solid media support to showcase its participants across North America.
